We understand if pump and haul is interrupted at the BASF landfill(s), there is a possibility of an overflow to a Nylon Ditch. We informed those on the call that Water-Based Systems unit can’t authorize a direct discharge of pollutants via letter or email. Direct discharges can only be authorized via NPDES permit or through a Commissioner’s Order. We suggested that alternative connection to Morristown WWTP be considered. I promised to share this information with the division leadership and OGC. Please expand on my notes if appropriate. Stay safe.
