The caller said they burn 3 to 4 to 6 full-size trees worth of wood per day – like the boilers are large enough to burn 4ft diameter logs. The complaint was regarding smoke and how they could operate without some kind of environmental permit. The caller said that sometimes the smoke is so thick that cars will have to slow down when passing by on Hwy 50. A little background is that initially, the buildings were chicken barns…then greenhouses…and now wood kilns.DSB met Mike Strickland and Chris Strickland on site and explained nature of complaint.
