On 7/18/18, I met with Drew Muirhead at the Metro/Brentwood pumstation to visit overflow locations from 7/16/18 --3 manholes at the M/B P.S and a manhole off Hillsboro pike (up stream of the station). Overflows occurred due to pump failure at the M/B pumpstation. The areas around the three manholes were limed and strawed. Sewage did not reach the little Harpeth at the M/B location. D.O. of the little Harpeth at the M/B P.S. was 9.5 mg/l.

The Overflow at Hillsboro pike was properly contained and disinfected. Sludge was removed and top soil was applied to the area and covered with lime and straw. D.O. of the Little Harpeth at this location was 10.6 mg/l. Sewage did enter a conveyance that is connected to the little Harpeth. However, the conveyance passes through a filter berm beneath a utility passage way. The filter berm provides adequate solids removal. The D.O. of the filtered portion of the conveyance was 6.5 mg/l, the unfiltered portion was 6.3 mg/l.

Overflow signs are posted and the SSORP is up to date. City personnel acted quickly to stop the overflows and remediate the affected areas. The City of Brentwood will continue to monitor the Little Harpeth River up and down stream from Hillsboro Pike and M/B Pumstation.
