Sanitary Sewer Overflow Non-Sampling
In Compliance
At 1400 HRS I arrived on site to observe a sewer break located at the intersection of HWY 77 and Old 45 West across HWY from Alford Tire Company. The sewer break was inclosed in concrete so it was determned to locate leak and lay new pipe to parallel the old line. The leak was making its way into a metal culvert and flowing into a concrete drainage canal. The leak was isolated by pumping wastewater around the leak from upstream manhole to downstream manhole. The union of the pipes had just been shoved into one another and concrete poured over it. Over time the union failed and caused the leak. To solve the problem a correct union was made and a line was laid parallel to the old line to receive the upstream wastewater flow. The fix was completed at approx. 2400HRS on the 14JUN13.
