Notes
I attended a called meeting of the mayor, city alderman and city manager to discuss their inflow and/or infiltration problems. I stated that during a recent rainfall event they had 16 overflows and 14 days of bypassing the systems influent lagoon. Also stated was even though their was a extended rainfall with a high total of rainfall the collection system should not been effective if they had a tight collection system. They were told that these overflows were in violation of their NPDES Permit and subject to enforcement. After fielding questions from the mayor, alderman and city manager they were told of the
consequents would be if the City did not address the inflow and/or infiltration problem.
Their was agreement, among the City's officials, that the City would begin a sewer rehab program as soon as possible. The money to fund this project will be in place for the project to begin.
I request a letter from the City describing the problems and how they were to address them, with a tentative progress of work done.
City officials thanked me for attending the meeting stating they needed a face to face meeting to understand. the problem.
