Notes
Met with Mr. Roy Price, Certified Operator in Direct Charge, following complaint investigation at Bolton Residence. Discussed current efforts on decreasing iron levels in finished water. The water system obtained a iron level of 0.12 mg/L at the dead-end of Tracy Branch on March 27. Finished water iron on the day of the visit was 0.07 mg/L. For the month of March, 21 out of 28 days the iron level was below the seocndary standard of 0.3 mg/L. Mr. Price believes that flushing the clarifiers every three hours and feeding a coagulant has helped with the iron levels. Mr. Price also plans to drop the chlorine residuals leaving the plant as the free chlorine was 4.1 mg/L on the day of the visit. While on-site, we also briefly discussed the recent NOV that was issued for the iron exceedances and shutting the high service pumps off if the plant must be left unattended for short periods of time.
