This inspection was an OSMRE Phase 1 Bond Release inspection. Individuals present include Bonnie Craighead and Chris Pracheil with TDEC, Whitney Nash with OSMRE, and Mike Sharp and Gary Rose with Alden Resources, LLC. At the time of inspection both sediment ponds were receiving inflow but not discharging. The site is stable with established grass vegetation. Since the last inspection Mr. Rose has cleaned out the sumps along the haul road to improve storm water retention and treatment. During the inspection it was noted that a small sediment sump on the northwest side of the mine where mining had ended was full. Mr. Rose had equipment on site and agreed to clean out the sump and install water bars along the haul road where some washing was occurring. All sediment control structures and best management practices were installed and functioning as designed. This facility is in compliance with the NPDES permit.
