Notes
Hidden Acres II is permitted for approximately 4,800 hogs. The following records were available for review: inspections of waste storage systems, freeboard records, weekly stormwater control inspections, daily rainfall, daily waterline inspections, and records of most recent manure analysis. An Annual Report had been submitted for the facility.
Records of manure transfers were not being maintained correctly. CNMP indicates all manure is transferred from Hidden Acres, LLC to Tosh Farms, LLC. Wastewater application record forms were filled out which made it appear that manure is being applied by the facility. After discussing this with the operator it was determined the manure applications should have been shown as a third party transfer from the Hidden Acres II facility to Tosh Farms. I indicated to the facility manure transfers from the facility should not be written on the wastewater application sheet as it causes confusion as to what is being done with the manure wastewater and who is responsible for it. I discussed with the operator the appropriate record forms to use to document manure transfers from the facility.
Requested the operator to submit records of manure transfers after Tosh Farms pumps their lagoon down this spring.
