CMC Steel US, LLC self-reported a discharge of process water resulting in a minor fish kill. Process water was no longer discharging and discharged material had been removed from the stream. I advised Chris Miles and Stephen Scales to submit a report detailing what happened, how they cleaned up the stream, and how they plan to prevent contaminated discharge in the future.
Since this was a process water discharge instead of a stormwater issue, I contacted Tim Hill in our facilities group. Tim will send a NOV and request CAP under their individual permit coverage for the process water discharge, TN0027804..
