Notes
The system is installing a membrane filtration skid to the existing Geisler Spring well. We met with Kim Eakes, consulting engineer for the system, Casey Staggs, Waynesboro COP, and a representative of Pall, the manufacturer of the membrane system. The plant is expected to be put into service in about 4 weeks, pending repairs to the high service pump. Ms. Eakes and I discussed their proposed disinfection and sampling procedure for the membrane units, downstream piping, high service pump, and clearwell. The Pall representative walked us through the control screens showing the set points and delays for turbidity and chlorine alarms and shutdown. He also walked us through how the unit goes through a direct integrity test.
Eakes is to contact us at a later date to schedule the final walk through for the approval of the new treatment unit.
