Notes
Met with John Lambert and Bryson Helm. Bryson Helm accompanied me on industrial visits. We visited the following industries during the inspection: Primex, Marion county landfill leachate plant, and Schwend.
The Marion county landfill is closing and will be converted to a transfer station. The flow will not be decreased to the leachate plant until the landfill is capped in around 6 months to a year.
Files were complete and recordkeeping is good.
The CA is sampling and inspecting the industries at the required frequency.
Schwend has inquired about installing a truck tank wash at their facility. Bryson gave their representative a permit application during our meeting.I have e-mailed the representative at Schwend an EPA guidance document on the Transportation Equipment Cleaning Category.
On February 6th John Lambert and I had a meeting with Tina Parker, EHS person for Mueller, Inc. Mueller, Inc. is opening a facility in Kimball and has inquired about discharging to the WWTP. John provided her with a permit application and she told John what the facility will produce. It appears to be in the metal finishing category. Mueller is still renovating the facility and is not likely to discharge anything other than sanitary until the production starts-up at least 6 months from now.
