Notes
I found the creek on the west side of the facility to be clean and clear. I then met with Dave Bragg and toured the site with him. The water loading area by the leachate tank was muddy. Dave said it drains to the sediment pond. We saw the sediment pond on the west side. It had recently been cleaned out. There was a rock check dam across the middle which allowed them to clean out easier.
At the old landfill, the sediment pond was low. The old landfill is well grassed now. The connecting line from the first leachate pond was open, which allows leachate to pass through to the second pond. The second pond was far down in preparation for the winter rains. The spray field was recently mowed and there was no sign of runoff.
