Compliance Evaluation Inspection performed by Corey Click and Geoff Klein. Also present was Mr. Jojo Bishop (BWI), Alisa Hatmaker (BWI), and Walt Hillis (BWI). The inspection was initiated due to the Watauga Quarry site undergoing an application renewal. Inspection started at approximately 10:50 A.M. and ended at 12:15 P.M. Complete inspection performed observing the permit boundary, sumps A and B, the monitoring point, and outfall 001. Outfall 001 was discharging at the time of the inspection. The discharge appeared clear, and the receiving stream (Watauga River) also looked clear. During the inspection, discharge monitoring reports (DMRs) from September 2019 – April 2022 were reviewed. Facility personnel have submitted the required DMRs, and no permit exceedances were reported during the time period reviewed. Site was in compliance and well-maintained at the time of the inspection.
