Notes
Not all records were available for review at time of inspection. Mr. Danny Ham did email me the missing records on 8/16/18 and 8/20/18.
After review of the manure application records I contacted Mr. Danny Ham because there were two fields (Powers and Bill Thompson) shown on the manure application records that were not in the facility’s CNMP. After further discussion with Mr. Ham on 8/23/18 regarding the application records it was indicated that the manure transfers to Powers and Bill Thompson were included on the application records. Will request facility to show manure transfers on a manure transfer record form and also submit third party manure transfer forms.
Facility built 2 new deep pit barns in 2015. Facility no longer utilizes wastewater lagoons to store manure at the facility. The lower wastewater lagoon has been closed out and is no longer present at the facility. Mr. Danny Ham indicated that the pipes have been capped off to the upper wastewater lagoon. All manure is now stored in the deep pit barns. The CNMP for the facility should be updated during the upcoming renewal to show these changes. The CNMP should also indicate how the lower wastewater lagoon was closed out.
The Annual Report submitted for the facility indicates 84 acres available for land application. CNMP indicates one application field (Martin Hay) and it has 52.5 spreadable acres. If there are additional fields being utilized for manure application they should be added to the CNMP.
