4/17/12, checked samplers & flow meters before CSI: effluent composite sampler refrigeration unit out of service, all samplers (3) are time composite, electrical connections from flow meters to samplers not restored since May 2010 flood, influent sample container already full & automatically shut off, tubing needs replacement, influent tubing too long & under/interferring with flow meter sensor, influent & effluent meter sensors in wrong locatons. Must wait for repairs to do CSI.
O & M: influent odor problems, odor control out since flood, 1 of 2 oxidation ditch brush aerators out of service several weeks, inadequate aeration, excess solids buildup in holding tank/digesters, solids disposal needed more frequently, solids buildup in chlorine contact chamber, deteriorated metal & concrete structures, more plant cleaning & maintenance needed, new electrical control panels & SCADA system installed, electicians still working on wiring to parts of plant, sludge press out of service since flood, need to keep covers on manholes & electrical access pits on grounds.
Lab: E. coli plates from one day last week thrown away & not recorded, 1 pH standard expired, analytical balance not stable/no ABS weights, some problems with lab procedures & records.
4/18/12, checked conditions again & collected e. coli sample, aerator repairs planned next week, electricians to work on meters/samplers today, plant cleaning begun. 5/30-31/12, conducted CSI, some corrective action complete.
