Notes
Pre-mine inspection conducted in response to NPDES permit and surface mine permit application. At the time of inspection mining activity was occurring on site. A haul road had been constructed going up the hill. A sump was in place to catch runoff at the bottom of the hill. Material was being excavated from a small highwall using heavy equipment and trucked off site. There was sorting equipment on site. The site was not discharging at the time of inspection. Some brush had been pushed into a hydrologic feature. BJC requested an HD be performed to determine if the feature was a stream. The permittee has applied for an NPDES and surface mine permit and will be returned to compliance once all appropriate permits are received.
