A current copy of the permit was on file. The system has several maps of the sewer system, along with inspection, maintenance, and rehabilitation projects available at the City of Brentwood’s Water Services Department. Flow data is being transferred to Monthly Operating Reports (MOR) correctly and submitted quarterly to the Division of Water Resources (Division). Flow calculations compared with rainfall data support the City of Brentwood’s collection system does not have significant difficulties with inflow and infiltration (I&I). Forty-three sanitary sewer overflows were reported during this inspection period. A hard copy of the Multi-Jurisdictional Agreement (MJA) with Metro Water Services (MWS) was reviewed onsite. The agreement became effective on August 10, 2009, with the term of the MJA to end on October 1, 2024.

The city of Brentwood operates a combination gravity and low-pressure wastewater collection system that discharges sewerage to the MWS collection system, which is treated at the Whites Creek & Central wastewater treatment facilities. Currently, Brentwood operates 12 lift stations. Telemetry is used to monitor all lift stations, and flow is continuously monitored at two tie-in locations within the system. Flow meters are calibrated semi-annually. Maintenance logs and inspection records were in good order throughout the inspection.

The city of Brentwood’s collection system is well-maintained and operated as expected by the permit.
