    Complaint Description and Writeup

    Complaint concerned odor in area of farm. Initially left on voice mail 3/25/08. Investigation found strong animal waste odor from Hwy 412 near East Road, from a small field on the south side of East Road, from two fields on Mt. Moriah Church Road and near the entrance to TCB farm. Owner, Swanee Brassfield, was at the barn and in the process of loading tank. Said that he had been injecting waste that week in preparation for planting crops. Value of waste for fertilizer makes operation profitable without considering price for animals. Inspection of several injection trenchs could find no evidence of waste on surface, all material covered. No spillage at farm or on road. Complaint valid but not violation.
    Inspection of lift station for Friendship wastewater sewer could not detect any odor of sewage.
