Description and Writeup
Ms. Kathy Weinandt reported that sewage backed up into her condo two weeks ago from the condos' sewer line. Dyeing of the sewer line revealed tree roots in the condos' sewer line, thereby causing the backup. No clogs were found in Ms. Weinandt's condo sewer line. Mr. Ben Campbell and other Bristol, TN personnel investigated the situation and informed Ms. Weinandt that the City could not do anything since it was a private sewer line. The home owners association informed Ms. Weinandt that they would not do anything about the condos' private sewer line. SKV contacted Mr. Will Witcher, City of Bristol, TN and inquired if the City's sewer use ordinance could be used in this situation. Mr. Witcher contacted Mr. Matt Bailey, City Code Administrator. The City's Code Enforcement Division handles matters on private property and enforces the sewer use ordinance. The City will work to resolve the issue in a timely manner. SKV informed Ms. Weinandt that she had contacted Mr. Witcher and that the city could use its sewer use ordinance.
