    Description and Writeup

Mr. Brad Tullock reported that Mosheim keeps pumping sewage into his creek on 10/7/08. SKV contacted J.C. Hurd, certified collection system operator for Mosheim on 10/8/08. J. C. Hurd said that Mosheim was flushing the creek with firetruck water. The Marathon Market pump station overflow of 10/6/08 was reported to SKV on 10/7/08 by J. C. Hurd. SKV and BBC met with Mosheim personnel on 10/8/08 at the pump station. The high level and cutoff float switches did not function on 10/6/08 thereby causing the overflow. Per Mosheim personnel, the float switches were replaced on 10/6/08. Sewage overflowed from a manhole into the Unnamed Trib. of Little Chuckey Creek. Mosheim personnel said that the creek was flushed the morning of 10/8/08 below the driveway of the pump station. SKV and BBC then met with Mr. Tullock on Bramble Rd. Mosheim personnel were also on site. Pools of gray sewage were seen in the creek downgradient of 706 Bramble Rd. Several dead fish were seen from approximately 100 yards downstream of Highway 11-E to 50 yards downstream of 706 Bramble Rd. Mosheim personnel were informed to pump the sewage out of the creek. Four Seasons arrived at the site and pumped out of the creek. Mosheim personnel and Mr. Tullock were informed that Mosheim would be sent a letter requiring the submittal of a sewage overflow response plan. SKV also informed Mosheim personnel that the creek must not be flushed with water.
