    Complaint Description and Writeup

COMPLAINT: Complainant stated that the manhole adjacent to 114 Demase St, Portland still has sewage overflows into a ditchline every time it rains. The city has informed him that the funding for the project to relocate the PS didn't go through & they don't really have a plan for what they will do to resolve the problem. They did put up a sign at the overflow point after his previous complaint. ***
MRT looked for information about prior commitments in Portland STP files. MRT made several calls to Jimmy Smith about his efforts in this area. Email from Smith on 3/1/14 with some info. ***
On 9/16/14, MRT met w/Thomas McCormick, Public Works Dir to visit part of the Portland collection system. McCormick stated that the CDBG funding had been applied for a 2nd time w/some modification to the application. McCormick just recently received notice that they didn't get the funding. McCormick indicated that he will be adding some upgrade for this area to the next sewer budget. ***
On 6/26/15, MRT spoke with the complainant. They have moved from this location because of ongoing problems. They say the city is continuing to add customers to the system.
