Complaint Description and Writeup
Complaint Description and Writeup
Ron Hibler left a message about black water flowing through "Chlorine Hollow" at Lock 4 Park in Gallatin. I was unable reach Mr. Hibler when I returned his call. On Saturday, David Hardin, owner of Biker's Choice bicycle shop confirmed that there was a problem with "black sewage water" at Lock 4 Park.
3-26-2011 - I called Brandon Traugber, Gallatin STP operator, and asked that he investigate and make corrections. Joey Holland
3-30-2011 - I spoke with Mr. Traugber. An investigation determined that the contamination of the spring had resulted from a leak in a lagoon at the STP site. The lagoon contained sewage sludge and the leak had begun on March 23 when equipment punctured the lagoon¿s lining. This had occurred during the process of decommissioning the lagoon. The lagoon is now being removed and all the accumulated sludge transported away for proper disposal. Sludge deposits in Lock 4 Park have been removed and the affected areas have been treated with lime for disinfection. Joey Holland
