    Description and Writeup

    Mr. Ed Mullins, City of Elizabethton reported a 4-15-18 overflow at the Cherokee Pump Station. The overflow went from 8:30-10:20 PM. A written report will be submitted to the Johnson City EFO. The report received on 4-17-18 indicated the following, "Our WWTP recorded a total of 1.4 inches of precipitation on Sunday, 4/15/18 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M, and 1.73 inches in the total 24 hour period. Influent flows at the plant peaked at over 8 MGD for a short time during the rain event. At approximately 8:30 P.M. the same day, our construction crews were called out to monitor water levels at our major pump stations. t
    The crew at Cherokee Industrial Park Pump Station reported that the manhole adjacent to the pump station began overflowing at 8:30 P.M. and ceased at 10:20 P.M. The amount of overflow from the manhole was reported to be unknown. Our crews reported that any debris from the overflow was cleaned up." Sandra Vance(SKV)contacted Mr. Mullins on 4-17-18 and inquired if the overflow reached the Watauga River. Mr. Mullins indicated the overflow reached the Watauga River.
