Complaint Description and Writeup
Complaint Description and Writeup
Is the existing metal recycling facility at 401 Belgrade Rd, Oak Ridge, TN 37830 operating without a TMSP? There is an existing TMSP (no exposure) application listed on the data viewer from 2001. It appears to be a different company and operation. The metal recycling facility appears to be lacking a Sector N permit to monitor their stormwater runoff from their open air facility and is actively discharging industrial stormwater to the nearby creek.
Additionally their CGP permit at their adjacent parcel appears to not be in compliance. It appears to be lacking standard BMPS and has mud being tracked on the streets (from google street view) from their recycling activities.
Email sent to Josh Beckler 2/21/24 - Mr. Beckler,
Hope all is well. I have been assigned to the complaint that was filed with our department. I conducted a site inspection of the grading project associated with Noble Metals. A few stabilization issues were noted. I spoke with the permittee regarding the remediation needed onsite and we developed a timeline for the repairs. As for the actual recycling facility, I could not find TMSP coverage for the activities occurring at 401 Belgrade Road, Oak Ridge, TN 37830. I have cc’d a TMSP contact that may provide further insight.
