Complaint Description and Writeup
Jason Moss of Union City public works called to inform TDEC of a sewage problem with Oakshire Community located on 2081 Oakshire Road, Union City TN 38261. This mobile home community has operated a pump station in the past that connects to Union City wastewater for disposal. Mr. Moss states that upon investigation, the pump station is not functioning and has not for a long period of time. The 6 inch pipe has been cut and rerouted to a ditch in the back of the property. The stench is overwhelming around the ditch that is full of sewage. Mr. Moss supplied pictures. He informed TDEC that the same scenario was played out in 2010.
On 8/16/23, an anonymous complaint was received about sewage running on the ground from 2081 Oakshire Road. This is a trailer home community. Bret Ferguson and I went on-site to view the situation on 8/17/23. The pump station has been rehabed and is functional. A trailer home has been moved in to be rehabilitated. The sewage was from a clog in both the trailer home and the lines. The lines have been jetted and a plumber with a camera will be looking for the clog.
