Complainant is concerned with a land application site off Brown Kyte Rd. He had concerns with the biosolids not being incorporated into the soil and livestock exposure to biosolids. He is also concerned about the odor of the biosolids.
09/10/2024- Site investigation by TDEC personnel. Looked at large tract (25.4) acres off Brown Kyte Rd. identified as Bill Kyte property TN-SU-11-1 on most recent NOI. Biosolids applied on field. Observed no streams or active sinkholes on site. No livestock were observed on site. According to the most recent notice of intent (NOI), the facility's biosolids are class B biosolids that use lime stabilization as a vector attraction reduction method. Lime kiln dust is mixed in to raise the pH of the biosolids to 12 or higher for 2 hours and maintained at 11.5 pH or higher for an additional 22 hours. Using this vector attraction reduction method, the biosolids are not required to be incorporated into the soil according to the the biosolids general permit. Inframark (operates Bristol STP #2 for City of Bristol) personnel provided haul logs and laboratory data related to the biosolids applied. Small amounts of material appeared to be tracked into Brown Kyte Rd. Inframark personnel were notified of this.
