Mr. Steve Harsh, City of Johnson City reported a 11-1-18 overflow at 509 Austin Springs Rd. (Johnson City Knob Creek WWTP)(manhole). Ms. Sandra Vance (SKV)-DWR-Johnson City EFO contacted Mr. Albert Greenwell, Johnson City Knob Creek WWTP, on 11-2-18. He indicated the overflow occurred since the portable generator providing power to the influent screw lift pumps failed. The battery for the generator was replaced. A written report will be submitted to the Johnson City EFO. The report received on 11-5-18 indicated the overflow went from 11:00 PM-10-31-18 until 1:00 AM-11-1-18. The estimated volume was 30,000 gallons. The cause was due to "Mechanical Failure-Generator." The initial corrective action was "Repaired generator" and the disinfection type was "Wash down, vac up."
