Complaint Description and Writeup
Complaint Description and Writeup
The complainant stated that trash is being dumped down the sewer via toilets at the Johnson County Jail, 216 Honeysuckle Street, Mountain City, TN. Mr. Will Parks sent Mr. Chris Atwood, Mountain City Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) a June 28, 2024, email requesting what steps the Town planned to take regarding the complaint and to submit an email with the Town's response. Ms. Sandra Vance (SKV)-DWR-Johnson City, spoke to Mr. Atwood via phone on July 8, 2024. Mr. Atwood stated the facility should have a basket on the sewer line going to the Town's collection system and that he would do an inspection at the facility the week of July 8, 2024. Per a July 10, 2024, email from Mr. Atwood to Mr. Parks, "I have called the Sheriff office this morning and am in the process of doing an inspection for the Johnson County Jail. I am just waiting on the Sherriff for a date." Refer to DWR-TN0024945-Letter-20240718-2366 for Mountain City's Response.
