Complaint Description and Writeup
Complaint Description and Writeup
Owners of MAP 039, PARCEL 014, Cannon County, Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury Property Assessment Mapping System, appear to have hired a logger to extract timber from this property. The logger is unknown and no information is found for this property in the TDEC Data Viewer nor the Tennessee Division of Forestry, let alone any permitting for this logging operation. This logging operation continues along a tributary of the Rush Creek within the East Fork Stones River watershed and Tennessee State Highway 145, spilling tremendous amounts of silt and sediment into drainage ditches, a large stormwater management culvert, and into the tributary without any silt fencing or erosion control whatsoever. The stormwater management culvert which runs under Tennessee State Highway 145 and into the tributary is now nearly blocked by sediment, and stormwater is now running over the road during rain events onto other properties and into the tributary. Please inspect this situation promptly and take appropriate action in furtherance of Clean Water Act of 1977 enforcement, among other federally mandated enforcement.
