Complaint Description and Writeup
Complaint Description and Writeup
The Commissioners office notified us of this complaint. Mr. Rickman stated that his property is being impacted by sewage from upstream property owner Titan Industries. I spoke to Jerry Harris Manager for Decatur. Jerry stated that the sewage was from Mr. Rickman's property due to broken clean out caps from service line.
The broken service line caused a blockage in Decatur's main line which ultimately caused sewage to back up and exit through broken cleanout. The town of Decatur cleaned up blockage and asked Mr. Rickman to repair cleanout on his property.
Mr. Rickman's consultant collected E. coli samples the results were 2.48 and 95.9. The report contained no unit of measure. If they were reported as MPN/100mls these results are far below water quality criteria. Town of Decatur has investigated this complaint prior to Mr. Rickman calling TDEC.
