Description and Writeup
Mr. Danny Sims, Town of Mountain City reported a 10-3-18 overflow at the Mountain City WWTP. At approximately 9:15 AM, 25 gallons overflowed from the scum well beside clarifier #2. The overflow occurred due to the contractor pumping flow from the oxidation ditch over to the clarifier. The contractor was doing rehab work on the oxidation ditch. A written report will be submitted to the Johnson City EFO. The report received 10-11-18 indicated the following, "This occurred on October 3, 2018 at approximately 9:15 a.m. at the scum well at the #2 clarifier. It was caused by contractors pumping down the oxidation ditch for rehabilitation work. An estimated 25 gallons was lost on plant property....Was limed when I arrived on Oct. 4."
