Complaint Description and Writeup
Complaint: Anonymous caller, Williamson Co., Pinkerton Park, Sewer Main broken that runs through the river. The city is aware of the problem and has pumps in place. The water is running into the sewer drain. He says there is a sinkhole starting to form. The location is at the bridge on the walking path. Called at 8:20 am on Friday, May 16th. ***
On 5/16/14, MRT contacted JR Lee, Franklin Asst WW Collection Supt, regarding the reported situation. Lee explained that the SSO at the location in question (35.92160 / -86.86431) occured on 4/29/14. Lee emailed MRT a preliminary report that same day & followed up with a written report submitted via email on 5/1/14. There have been no further SSOs at this location. The City is staging equipment to assess the situation & make repairs. Lee was asked to provide information on the activities to date & once repairs were completed. Lee provided a summary & timetable of events via email later that same day. ***
On 5/20/14, MRT contacted Lee. Lee said that the plugs were in place on the 54" line but the D/S plug was leaking. They had a rental plug on the way from Atlanta. The line is 22' deep & they plan to excavate about 10' today & finish the exavation to the pipe once the D/S plug is securely in place. ***
On 5/22/14 & 6/9/14, MRT visited this location to check on conditions & plans for repair. The scope of repairs changed as more exstensive damage was discovered. Repairs proceeding & pump around continuing without incident. ***
On 7/30/14, MRT was notified via email by Lee that repairs had been completed.
