    Description and Writeup

2/6/2024 - RAB - Licensed plumber with Griffin Mechanical contacted RAB to get well information so they could diagnose and fix problem with pump. RAB asked them for their license number because no one with Griffin Mech could be found in licensee list. Plumber said that they were licensed under Griffin Mechanical. RAB told plumber that DWR licensed individuals and not companies. RAB told plumber that plumber needed to be licensed for well work or be an operator under a licensed person. Will mail standard PBA letter to Griffin Mechanical.

2/9/2024 - RAB - Griffin Mechanical response via AskTDEC:
"We are a plumbing company based in Dickson County. We provide plumbing services to Dickson, and all surrounding counties. We are not licensed to work on wells. We want to clarify what portions of water systems we are allowed to work on without seeking further licensure from the state. We understand that we cannot work on well pumps or do anything that requires breaking a well seal. Where does our ability to provide repairs and service start? Can we work on the water lines that lead to the well? And pertaining to water treatment, are we able to install whole-home water filters such as a HALO system if the customer has a well? What about under sink water filters for a single fixture? Is there any resource where we can go that outlines the specifications of what services we can offer to our customers that have a well system? Is there a direct contact for questions about these items? Appreciate any help you can provide!"

2/9/2024 - RAB replied to AskTDEC and answered their questions.
