Complaint Description and Writeup
J.K. Perkins with the Johnson City Field Office, DWR, said he observed foam on Brush Creek on 12/9/24 in the morning and in the afternoon. Tina Robinson and I went to investigate this complaint on 12/10/24. We observed Brush Creek at St. John's Mill and saw some bubbles present, but no foam. We continued upstream on Woodlyn Road and observed the creek again. Just a few bubbles at this site. Observed the stream at Dalewood Drive below the JC Water Plant- just a few bubbles at this site. We continued upstream on Fairview Avenue and observed Brush Creek at the Smith Street bridge. The stream was clear at this site. Don't know if there was a spill or some sort of discharge to cause the foam seen the previous day but we didn't see any source of the foam. Will continue to keep an eye on the stream for any reoccurance.
