Complaint Description and Writeup
Complaint Description and Writeup
On August 4, 2024, I noticed significant amounts of sediment and turbidity within the creek. Normally sediment will quickly clear out of the creek system, but the creek still contained heavy amounts of sediment when I visited the creek again on August 17, 2024. On August 17, I was not able to observe any caddisflies, mayflies, stoneflies, or darters. I did observe some crayfish and minnows. I am concerned that the amount of sediment I observed is harming the creek.
My review of aerial imagery upstream of my family's farm shows ongoing clearing and grading activity at the end of Swindon Blvd in Fairview TN. This clearing/grading activity is occurring on top of a hill above two tributaries to Hunting Camp Creek. I am concerned that the Site requires additional sediment controls to prevent discharges of sediment to receiving waters.
