Description and Writeup
07/29/2019: NB with the Division of Solid Waste Management notified DWR that a complaint was forwarded to TDEC by the EPA. The complainant wrote to the EPA "There’s coolant from the mills bubbling out the floors. holes in the floor filled with wood with steam that will take your breath away. there’s 3 ponds at the back of the building that I believe have toxic waist being dumped in. containment areas over fill when it rains causing waist to go in the drain system. the water tastes bad so I know there’s something present. makes me angry to see a company get away with polluting the earth when all they have to do is stop being greedy an invest in making this operation safe for the environment an the people involved I’m sure I’m missing plenty please investigate this ASAP I wish to remain anonymous w".
08/06/2019: SO with DWR and NB with the DSWM made a site visit and toured the facility with Mr. Stacy Logan (VP Operations). No water quality issues were observed during the investigation. Mr. Logan stated that he was aware of the hole in the floor and has contracted someone to repair it. Mr. Logan stated that he would provide documentation that a contractor has been hired to make the repairs. While onsite SO discussed the low freeboard in the Industrial Pond #2. Mr. Logan stated that they would work on the discharge outlet so that more freeboard is provided.
