Complaint Description and Writeup
COMPLAINT: Complainant stated that every time it rains a manhole adjacent to 114 Demase St, Portland blows off and sewage overflows into a ditchline. Complainant stated that issue has continuously been reported City of Portland, but nothing has been done. ***
On 5/6/13, MRT called Mike Butler, Portland STP operator about the SSO on Demase St. Butler said he just reports the SSOs & suggested that I call Stephen Whitehead, Asst Public Works Dir or Thomas McCormick, Public Works Dir. ***
On 5/7/13, MRT received a call from McCormick. He emailed me an ER on a sewer project for Demase St. The whole area has to be reworked. Right now the PS is in the middle of the street & it only has 1 pump. This has been submitted for CDBG funding & it will probably be next spring before they can contract for the work. MRT advised to make sure all SSOs are reported, keep a spare pump for this PS & do all maintenance to keep the system operating properly. ***
On 5/10/13, MRT received a call from the complainant. He was advised of the ER for reworking the sewer on Demase St. He mentioned that sewage from the SSO pools up in that area. It used to start when the ditch was full & now starts before the ditch is full.
