    Complaint Description and Writeup

complaint - they have been working on the STEP system. A french drain was installed in the ditch beside the system. Water is surfacing in the ditch. Some water is flowing thru a black pipe to the stream. They collected samples of the water surfacing. Some drain lines also installed near some homes.
7/24/08, MRT & Stephanie Fisher, WPC-Enforcement & Compliance visited the site. MRT had contacted Jim Stinnett, cert op, prior to visit. He was unable to meet us there but did let me know that in reworking the ditch south of the drip area, drip line had been placed in it to help the grass get started. The ditch was irrigated w/flow from the RSF. This system doesn't have disinfection. No one was at the facility when we arrived but Dustin Gremmels, Adenus Utilities, arrived later. They are working on improvements to various systems they operate, including fencing. There was no fence on the stream side of this system. Gremmels was informed that some type of fence was needed. I contacted Clint Wayman, Adenus Utilities, who was working on the CS. He met us at the RSF. They had added some soil to the drip area & regraded above the existing drip lines. They repaired some drip lines. He also mentioned repairing a black drain pipe under the drip area. We informed him that the system eff should not be used for irrigation outside the fenced area. He said they were no longer irrigating the ditch. - MRT 7/31/08
MRT met w/Jim Stinnett on 8/5/08. Water was standing in the ditch at the south end of the main drip area. Water was found to be about 6" below the surface in a crayfish hole about midwary across the south end of the main drip area. Still no vegetaion on this area & numerous wet spots observed. Pointed out the black drain pipe at the creek, it must be removed. - MRT 8/27/08
