    Description and Writeup

Per complainant to EPA on July 14, 2023: "It has been brought to the public light that when the city sewer station has been blocked up the mayor would advise workers to back pump it into the local creek. This creek runs in close proximity to the sewer station. This creek also runs through our town and through our city park. As it is summer and many children as allowed to play in the said creek. This new publication has been apparently going on for many years and the citizens of this town would like to have this issue addressed. I do not have specific dates of these occurrences as it seems to be many. We have also learned that the concession stand used grease is also being poured into this creek."

Pump stations overflow/bypass during rain and high-flow events due to system overloading. No evidence of intentional pumping of sewage into stream. City is engaged in I&I reduction projects to address.
