    Complaint Description and Writeup

Ms. April Drwiega contacted Ms. Amanda Davis, Division of Air Pollution Control (APC) about odor and air quality concerns from the Knob Creek WWTP. Ms. Sandra Vance (SKV)-Division of Water Resources (DWR)contacted Ms. Drwiega and she said she was concerned about the Knob Creek WWTP odor making her children sick. She also inquired if the air quality could be tested. SKV informed Ms. Drwiega that DWR does not regulate odor or air quality. SKV also advised her she would contact the City of Johnson City and have them contact her. Finally, she was informed that Ms. Davis-APC would be advised of her air quality concern and would contact her. SKV spoke with Mr. Mike Taylor, City of Johnson City and he advised that foggers are set up at the WWTP to help with odor control and solids are hauled away consistently to minimize odors. He also advised the City would investigate the complaint further on September 26, 2018 when Mr. Jeff Corder, City of Johnson City was available.
