Complaint Description and Writeup
Mr. Johann Coetzee, City of Elizabethton reported that the residence sanitary sewer at 620 Johnson Ave., Elizabethton was discovered to be connected to the storm sewer. The camera crew videoed the storm sewer line and found the connection. A 11-4-16 e-mail from Mr. Coetzee indicated the following, "We found a house sanitary sewer connected to the storm line at 623 Johnson Avenue. This was during the course of our normal work. This cross connection may date back for decades. The precise time is unknown. We have started preparations and will have the house disconnected from the storm sewer before or by COB (close of business)on November 10, 2016." A written report will be submitted to the Johnson City EFO. The report received on 11-8-16 indicated, "We are reporting this as a non wet weather event. The length of time this connection has been this way is unknown, but we suspect it may have been decades. Our crews have started preparations and will have the house disconnected from the storm sewer on or before November 10, 2016." Mr. Ed Mullins, City of Elizabethton sent an 11-9-16 e-mail that stated, "I was informed yesterday evening that this cross connection has been repaired. It was finished yesterday, 11-8-16."
