Complaint Description and Writeup
Jeff let me first say thank you for looking in to this matter in the city of Smithville.
I know that Jeremy Hooper has passed along the E-mail I sent him to you so I will not repeat it.
Just wanted to let you know that I am available if you have any questions you think I might can answer.
This has been an ongoing problem and no one wants to address it. The sewer lines in the city cross several creeks and streams
in many places in the process of getting to the treatment plant. Any thing you can do to help it will be greatly appreciated.
I am sure that the clay pipes that were used 40-45 years ago are broken and leaking badly.

Complainant describes issues during rain events. He stated that he experiences back up from the collection system to the point he has installed a clean out that will un cap itself when water backs up to prevent a back up in his house. I had reached to the collection system operator Kevin Robinson to discuss the issue. Kevin was under the impression that there was a back flow preventer/ check valve. I suggested to contact a sewer professional/ plumber to look at options to prevent the back up. I discussed that the pop value could cause pollution to waters and should be configured in manner that would not allow pollution to waters of the state. I followed up to the city and complainant on 4.12 3 to 330 pm.
