Complaint Description and Writeup
Complaint Description and Writeup
I am writing to put in a formal complaint regarding the sewage gas smell issues in the Oakvale Subdivision in Mt Juliet. The following people/homes have asked that I include them as part of the complaint:
Cindy Fernando 585 Oakvale Ln (Me)
Kathy Heath 577 Oakvale Ln
Alexandra Madar 553 Oakvale Ln
Natalie Pack 6190 Stewart Ferry Pike
Mackenzie Sells Jones 550 Oakvale Ln
Michael Sheer 563 Oakvale Ln
Autumn Shea Martin 567 Oakvale Ln
Nanda Coimbra 546 Oakvale Ln
Miriam Morales de Astoraga 553 Oakvale Ln
Tammy Hooper 549 Oakvale
Heather Erin 6300 Stewarts Ferry Pike
Amanda Cecil 589 Oakvale
There are many others impacted however they would prefer not to be included for fear of impacting their resale value and having to disclose the issue when trying to sell their homes.
Issue is as follows:
Random strong sewage gas smell that occurs usually between 11pm and 7am for over a year now. We have confirmed with surrounding houses that this smell only started when people started moving into the Goodall homes. Over the last three months the smell has come during the day on a few occasions. Some houses have the smell coming into their homes.
Impact of smell varies but these are some of the examples of the health issues that happen for people in the neighborhood directly related to when the smell occurs:
Breathing issues
Headaches
Nausea
Vomiting
Nosebleeds
Dizziness/Confusion
Burning Eyes
Inability to be outside comfortably when the smell is present.
Additional information in email from complainant, saved to site page.
JMF & JLS investigated 5/12/21. Stopped at homes listed in complaint e-mail, drove entire neighborhood. Construction ongoing. Slight odor near a full dumpster, some earthy odor near homes with fresh mulch. Walked drip fields; ponding water but no sewage odor. Complainant e-mailed on 5-19-21
