Complaint Description and Writeup
5/18/23 - 8 am - Michael Caudill just stopped by my cubicle and asked if we were aware of any issues with the sewer system in Caryville-Jacksboro. Apparently there is a strong sewer odor that spans all the way from Caryville down to Rocky Top and over to Jacksboro Middle School. He said that people are going on Facebook and complaining about it. Most complaints are comping from around the middle school area. The SSDS group was over at Cove Lake yesterday and they could notice it. The Campbell County Road Superintendent contacted Michael this morning and Michael said that he could smell it getting on the interstate as well. He said that he thought they are doing some work on water or sewer lines and did not know if that may be the cause.
5/18/23 - 4 pm - Received phone call from Ms. Pamela Lawson concerning odor in the vicinity of Gold Creek Foods. Ms. Lawson states that the odor has gotten increasingly worse over the course of the week. Children at the nearby school are gagging and having a hard time concentrating in class. Additionally, she reports that Gold Creek Foods employees are in the parking lot gagging from the odor.
6/7/23 - Spoke to Ms. Lawson. The odor has significantly reduced and continues to decline. Believe the issue has been resolved.
