    Complaint Description and Writeup

11-4-15, caller reports chronic odor problems in his home & the surrounding area of homes (indoors & outdoors) due to odors from a vent in a sewer main. The vent is a concrete looking pipe in a ravine in a wooded area about 3 doors down from his residence. This has been a problems since he moved there in 2008 & has been reported to Greenbrier city personnel several times. It occurs in both wet & dry weather. He was told that gases venting from the line caused the problem. They mentioned solutions but the problem continues to occur. *AER*

12/1/15, Supt. Tommy Maitland called to advise that a plan had been developed to install an odor control drip feed system at the Hygeia pump station just upstream in the line from the Hwy 41 pump station. This would give more reaction time to prevent odors more effectively once the wastewater entered the Hwy 41 station. Plans are to have the odor control system installed and operational by 1/1/16 to address the odor problems. They have researched the material to be used and it should not cause any treatment problems at the wastewater plant. *AER*
