    Description and Writeup

Complainant called concerning sewage leaking from city owned line onto her property.

Attempted to contact complainant, but was unable to reach her. Left voicemail to have her call me back to obtain additional information regarding issue. LKS 3/13/18

Complainant claims that a pump station located on Onslow Way in Portland has had issues with overflows that causes sewage to flow across their property. She said that the water appears green, but said there is no discernible odor associated with it. She also stated that the installation of new culverts on an adjacent road and the development of a subdivision around their farm has resulted in flooding of their property. I explained that the state does not have regulatory authority over flooding issues, but I did provide the contact information for the Portland and Sumner County MS4 groups, as well as the local NRCS office. I have contacted Portland's public works department to make them aware of the situation and asked for a follow-up. Currently waiting to hear back from them. LKS 3/14/18

Conducted site visit to assess situation, but did not find any evidence of overflow from the lift station. There were areas of dried algae that were forming white, crusted mats, most likely left behind after pooled stormwater had evaporated. Called complainant to notify her of findings. LKS 3/16/18
