Complaint Description and Writeup
Complaint Description and Writeup
complaint - We have a neighbor in Charlotte Park that lives at 6303 Henry Ford Drive, and his house backs up to Sandy Creek. Sandy Creek flows into the Cumberland River (RM175.3@ entrance to Rock Harbor Marina). The manhole sewer cover in his yard is roughly 30 ft. from Sandy Creek, and overflows toilet paper, sewerage, etc. down into Sandy Creek, and this has been going on for 5 years at least. He has talked to the Councilman Buddy Baker, sent letters to Metro, the Mayor, EPA, etc. to no avail. Councilman Baker should be pushing to get this fixed, but isn't helping. We have written to many people downtown, to no avail.
MRT emailed Hal Balthrop, MWS System Services on 2/3/09 for info on what is happening in this area.
On 2/6/09, Balthrop called & emailed MRT. There is an OAP project for this basin. Funding for these projects has held them up. They are scheduled to TV Basswood and Henry Ford locations & tributaries beginning next week again. They have performed PM in the area in recent years but had determined that they wanted to check again.
