Description and Writeup
Mr. Danny Sims, Town of Mountain City reported the following overflows at the Mountain City WWTP: 4-16-18-manhole AA-00 in the impound lot and 5-3-18-bar screen. The 4-16-18 overflow occurred due to the WWTP influent lift station pumps being unable to keep up with the amount of influent flow from rainfall. The 5-3-18 overflow occurred due to a spill from a septic hauler offloading at the WWTP bar screen area. A blockage occurred in the septic truck's drain valve. The volume was approximately 25 gallons. A written report will be submitted for both overflows to the Johnson City WWTP. The report received on 5-16-18 indicated the 4-16-18 overflow went from 8:00-8:30 AM with an estimated volume of 900 gallons. The report also indicated, "This was due to a main lift station pump. The pump was reset and cleaned out....The area was cleaned and limed." The report received on 5-16-18 for the 5-3-18 overflow indicated, "This occurred on May 3, 2018 as Dowell Septic was unloading at the barscreen....The area was cleaned and limed."
