Complaint Description and Writeup
Complaint Description and Writeup
See below. There have been 3 calls since June.
6-11-19 Solid waste received an anonymous complaint with the following issues:
1 The caller reports sewage overflows around the plant and back behind the plant within an acre or so radius. Evidence is on the ground.
2 He reports these overflows are not rain dependent an have been going on for years.
3 The qualifications of individuals working at the plant performing their testing is also ‘questionable’.
4 He also said the water is not being chemically treated properly.
7-1-19 Caller called Solid Waste again. He refused to have his call transferred to personnel in DWR. His complaint was the same as June 11, but added that there was a sewage leak in a creek. He would not provide the address. Closed DAL
7-3-19 Sarah Elias received a complaint today from supposedly the same man who called Beverly in June and this past Monday. She said his complaint was somewhat vague. She asked him to call me and provided him with my info. I have received no contact. DAL
7-12-19 It appears to be the 4th communication from the same caller complaining about Decherd overflows. I received a call from Eric Bradford, Decherd Superintendent, about someone having called their local newspaper. Eric sent me the following: “At approximately 10:36 am this morning Rex Clark, City Administrator for City of Decherd, received a call from Brian Justice, reporter for Herald Chronicle Newspaper. The content of the call was about overflows of sewer into the creek on 4th Ave, close to sewer plant, and on Floyd St. at a sinkhole. Rex and myself immediately went to investigate the report. We found no flow at all on ditch on Floyd Street leading to the sinkhole, no overflowing manholes nor did we have any reports of sewer blockages from any of the customers in that area. We found no flow except the permitted discharge of WWTP of Decherd on Waggoner Creek at 4th Ave." DAL
