Complaint Description and Writeup
Complaint Description and Writeup
My name is Kelly Brewster I am a County Commissioner in Loudon County, TN and a member of the Solid Waste Board. We are having an issue with mud and debris being tracked onto our roads from the Landfill. Santek which runs the landfill, attempts to clean off the road with water tanks. After watching this process of cleaning the roads I am concerned with the fact the water and material from the landfill is running into a creek beside the road. I have enclosed some pictures for you to view.
I have lots of concerns about the mud, debris, and cleaning of the roads. I feel first it is unacceptable that our roads are in a mess due to Santek not fixing the tracking of debris from the landfill. Now my concerns have increased after watching the cleaning process and seeing the water and mess roll into the creek. The residence and Solid Waste Board have been complaining for over 8 years and the road debris isn't getting better. It is only getting worse and spilling into a creek now.
I would like for someone to investigate the road situation and the creek. The time has come for the County Commission and Solid Waste Board get some help in dealing with an 8 year problem that has to be an environmental issue at this point.
The Matlock Bend Landfill is located at 21712 Highway 72 North, Loudon TN. The creek is directly across from the entrance to the landfill.
